HOW TO TELL IF AN AAU EVENT IS AN
EXPOSURE EVENT
Very few AAU Events are College Exposure Events. AAU Coaches should refuse to bring teams to a
non exposure event.
College Coaches and Scouting Services will only attend an event that has contact information on the players that are playing in the tournament. Information such as Name, Address, Grade, School, Etc.
At an AAU Event players fill out an individual application which includes their contact information and their AAU Coach sends the application to the tournament director. The tournament director puts the players information in a packet and give it to all the College Coaches and Scouting Services in attendance.
DI College Coaches and Scouting Services are not permitted to talk to players or parents. They must be isolated at all events. If there is no contact information it is useless for a coach to attend the event.
If you go to an AAU Event and you didn’t fill out an
application with contact information there will be no College Coaches
there. Zero, None. Why would a College Coach go to an event and
not know how to contact the players.
